Maximum performance in every turn.

The ENGWE Y400 is the electric scooter for those who want to take their commute or weekend adventure to the next level. With a top speed of 45km/h, robust suspension and powerful engine, it delivers both speed and comfort - without compromise. Whether you're driving to work or exploring new trails at leisure, the Y400 makes every journey something to look forward to.

Powerful engine for hills and acceleration.

The brushless hub motor provides 500W nominal power and reaches up to 750W as a max. This means that you can easily climb slopes of up to 15° without losing speed. With a torque of 28Nm, you get a direct response when you step on the gas - regardless of whether you're driving in town or on dirt roads. You can also switch between four different driving modes to adapt the performance to the situation.

Long reach that lasts all day.

With a battery capacity of 48V 13.5Ah, you can drive up to 50 kilometers on one charge. It gives you the freedom to take longer trips without worrying about the battery running out. The charging time of 8-9 hours means you can easily charge overnight and be ready every morning. The battery is integrated into the frame for better protection, and although it's not removable, charging is smooth with a simple port.

Advanced shock absorption for a comfortable ride.

The Y400 is equipped with both front and rear suspension, including a C-shaped front damper that effectively absorbs vibrations. This provides up to 30% increased comfort and improved stability compared to simpler models. Regardless of whether you drive on asphalt, gravel or uneven ground, you get a smoother and safer experience.

Safety first – regardless of speed.

The electric scooter is equipped with double disc brakes that provide powerful and even braking action, even at higher speeds. Integrated front and rear lights and indicators make you visible in traffic, while the electric horn ensures you are heard when needed. In addition, the Y400 has an IPX5 rating that protects against rain splashes – perfect for Swedish weather conditions.

Stable construction and smart design.

With 10-inch air-filled off-road tires, you get good grip even on uneven surfaces. The wide platform provides stability while driving, and the adjustable handlebar means that both short and tall riders (155-185cm) sit comfortably. The maximum load of 120 kg means that most adults can drive without problems. When you're not using the electric scooter, you simply fold it up and take it with you in the car or up the stairs - perfect for those who live in an apartment.

User-friendly and ready out of the box.

The Y400 has a clear LCD display that shows speed, battery level and selected driving mode. With a simple ignition key, you start the electric scooter safely, and the four driving modes – Walking, Eco, Pace and Sport – give you the flexibility to customize each ride. The recommendation is to test brake a few times on the first trip to get to know the feel of the brakes.

For those who want a little more.

The ENGWE Y400 is suitable for those who want an electric scooter that can handle more than just asphalt. With its power, comfort and stability, it is perfect for those who commute longer distances or want to be able to drive on different types of surfaces. It is built to last - but also to make your everyday life easier.

Laws & regulations

Electric scooter
An electric scooter is considered a bicycle if it has a maximum speed of 20 km/h and a motor with no more than 250 W. However, it is important to note that the limit applies to the continuous (nominal) power - which means that the electric scooter can temporarily have a higher so-called peak power, for example up to 1000 W, as long as the nominal power does not exceed 250 W.

If the electric scooter exceeds 20 km/h in speed or has a motor with more than 250 W nominal power, different rules apply. The next classification is Moped class II and thereafter Moped class I. There are technical requirements, such as braking systems, that must be met for an electric scooter to be classified as a moped.

Essentially, if it reaches up to 25 km/h it is considered as Moped class II, while if the speed exceeds 40 km/h and the motor is stronger than 250 W, it is classified as Moped class I. For Moped Class I, an AM license is required, the vehicle must be registered, and a helmet must be worn. Moped class II requires a driver's license and mandatory use of a helmet. If the electric scooter does not meet the requirements for bicycle, moped class I or II it gets it not to be used on public roads.

Electric bike
For the requirements to apply to an electric bicycle, the motor must be limited to 250 W nominal (continuous) power and only assist the pedaling up to 25 km/h. This means that the engine can temporarily deliver a higher so-called peak power, for example up to 1000 W, as long as the nominal power does not exceed 250 W. The electric bicycle must also be pedaled for the motor to work - so it must not drive on its own without the user's pedaling power.

Deviation from these requirements results in the vehicle being classified as moped, which entails other technical requirements, mandatory registration, driver's license and insurance.

We strongly recommend the use of a helmet, especially if the driver is under the age of 15, although it is not mandatory.

Read our blog posts for more information about which rules apply around electric scooters and electric bikes.
